Catholic organizations extend Tet greetings to government religious committee

Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Vũ Chiến Thắng on January 23 hosted a reception for visiting Bishop Cosme Hoàng Văn Đạt of Bac Ninh diocese, on occasion of the traditional Lunar New Year 2019.  

During the visiting reception, while extending traditional New Year greetings to officials and staff of the GCRA, Bishop Cosme Hoàng Văn Đạt took the chance to thank the government religious committee for facilitating Catholic practices in the diocese over the past years.

Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng thanked the Catholic delegation for their visit and took the chance to wish the Bishop, Catholic dignitaries and all parishioners of the diocese a lunar New Year of happiness and success. He also briefed on results of socio-economic development of the country, the state administration on religions 2018 and the developing relation between Vietnam Government and Vatican.

Earlier on the same day, Priest President of the Committee for Solidarity of Vietnamese Catholics (CSVC) Joseph Trần Xuân Mạnh also met with Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng at the GCRA office on his visit to the government religious committee ahead of the Lunar New Year.

Priest Joseph Trần Xuân Mạnh extended Tet wishes to all GCRA’s officials and staff, and briefed the hosts  the CSVC’s activities in 2018, including the 7th national congress of the Catholic solidarity committee for the 2018 – 2023 tenure.

Speaking with the guests, Chairman Vũ Chiến Thắng highlighted the CSVC’s role for fostering Catholic solidarity and promoting Catholic involvement in social work in the country. He also conveyed New Year greetings to the CSVC and Catholic followers nation-wide.
