Catholic Bishops Conference extends congratulations new Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng

Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Ministry (MOHA) Vũ Chiến Thắng hosted a reception on August 28 for visiting Archbishop of Hanoi Archdiocese Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên at the headquarters of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA).

During the visiting reception, Archbishop Joseph Vũ Văn Thiên extended congratulations to Chairman of the GCRA on being promoted as the MOHA’s new deputy minister.
The Catholic dignitary also conveyed congratulations by President of the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of Vietnam (CBCV) Joseph Nguyễn Chí Linh to Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng. He expressed hope that, in the new position, the new deputy minister would further contribute to the state administration on belief and religion, and strengthen the relation between Vatican and Vietnam in the coming time.
Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng thanked the CBCV, Catholic dignitaries and lay people of Hanoi Archdiocese for their support over the past years. He urged all the CBCV to uphold fine traditions, accompany with the nation, and encourage parishioners to make further contributions for the cause of national construction and defense.

On the same day, on behalf of Vinh diocese, Priest Gerado Nguyễn Nam Việt, Head of the Vinh diocese’s Office visited and extended congratulations to new Deputy Minister Vũ Chiến Thắng.
