On Oct. 21, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà received Ambassador of Sri Lanka to Vietnam Hasanthi Dissanayake.
At the reception, the GCRA’s leader and the Sri Lanka Ambassador exchanged on the religious situation and the State management on religion in each country.
The Ambassador stated that Viet Nam and Sri Lanka have many similarities in the religious life such as the religious diversity and influence of Buddhism in the two countries.
Ambassador Hasanthi Dissanayake expressed her expectation that the Buddhist Church in the two countries could promote cooperation programs, such as in religious training and exchange, in the coming time. She also extended an invitation to the GCRA to attend Vesak celebration in Sri Lanka next year.
