A scientific workshop on preserving and promoting the values of Dao’s cultural heritage to serve the development of community-based tourism in Son Hai village, Nam Son commune, Ba Che district was held on June 22 in the district.
Prominent among those at the workshop were leaders of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with scientists and experts from the Vietnam Academy of Sciences, the Committee for Ethnic Minorities of the Government.
At the workshop, the project on preserving intangible cultural heritage and objects used to serve tourism activities were presented, thereby affirming precious cultural values of Dao people to the locality. Not only preserve the unique customs characteristics, Dao people also have a very special living space in both forest, mountains and on rivers.
Delegates highly appreciated the efforts of Ba Che District, as well as the appropriate measures for cultural preservation in association with tourism development.
Speaking at workshop, Quang Ninh's Vice Chairwoman Vũ Thị Thu Thủy, acknowledged and thanked the participants for their contributions and suggestions, and recommended that the goals of preservation and promotion of the unique cultural values of the Dao ethnic people should be clearly defined so as to contribute to developing Son Hai village, Nam Son commune to become an attractive tourism site in Ba Che.
In addition, the Chairwoman assigned the People's Committee of Ba Che district to set up plan to combine the culture conservation in harmony with economic development and improving the locals' living standard.
