Deputy Minister Y Thông extends congratulations on National Day of Lao People's Democratic Republic

A delegation from the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs led by Deputy Minister Y Thông paid a visit to the Lao Embassy in Vietnam on November 25 and extended congratulations on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the Lao People's Democratic Republic’s National Day (December 2, 1975 - December 2, 2025).

Accompanying the deputy minister was the Deputy Director of the ministry’s International Cooperation Department Nguyễn Thị Hải Yến.

On behalf of the Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs, Deputy Minister Y Thong sent best wishes to the Party, State, and people of all ethnic groups of Laos on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of National Day, and expressed congratulations on the important and comprehensive achievements that Laos has made in 50 years of building, protecting, and developing the country.

The Deputy Minister emphasized that the Vietnam-Laos relationship is a special, close, loyal, and pure solidarity between the two Parties, States, and Peoples. This great friendship was cultivated by President Hồ Chí Minh and President Kaysone Phomvihane, along with generations of previous leaders, and has continued to develop strongly and effectively over the past years, including the cooperation and exchange on ethnic and religious affairs.

Most recently, 30 officials from the Lao Front for National Construction and the Lao Home Affairs sector traveled to Hanoi from September 25-30, 2024, to attend the Vietnam-Laos experience exchange conference on religious affairs. The Ministry of Ethnic and Religious Affairs has been responsible for advising on the development of the project "Training and exchanging knowledge of ethnic affairs for Lao and Cambodian public employees" for the 2025-2030 period.

The Deputy Minister expressed his hope that the strong friendship, exceptional solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between the two countries would continue to be strengthened and sustainably developed in the coming time.

Ambassador of the Lao People's Democratic Republic to Vietnam, Khamphao Ernthavanh, thanked Deputy Minister Y Thông and the visiting delegation of the Ethnic and Religious Affairs Ministry of Vietnam, as well as stated that the Lao Embassy will continue to play an important role in contributing to further promoting Vietnam-Laos relations.
