The construction of Truc Lam Zen Monastery was kicked off at a ceremony held on November 12 in An Giang province’s Thoai Son district.
The event saw the participation of General former Minister of Defense Phạm Văn Trà, representatives from the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, the Government Committee for Religious Affairs, local authorities and a large number of Buddhists in the province.
An Giang Truc Lam Zen Monastery will be built in Nui Sap tourist area (Nui Sap town, Thoai Son district) on an area of 11 hectares with facilities including the main worshipping hall, bell and drum towers, the triple gate, Avalokitesvara statute etc.

On this occasion, Senior Venerable Thích Đạt Ma Chí Kiên was formally appointed as Abbot of An Giang Truc Lam Zen Monastery.
