Implementing the Directive No. 07-CT/TW dated September 5, 2016 of the Secretariat of Party Central Committee on promoting grassroots information work in the new situation. The Women Union in Soc Trang has launched movements and programs in line with aspirations of members. In particular, the provincial Union has paid attention to propaganda works amongst ethnic, religious and Chinese women.
The provincial Women Union has gradually disseminated with many ways in grassroots level, stepped up the application of information technology in propaganda work, contributing to raising awareness for its members in the province.
Specifically, the Union has widely disseminated knowledge and experiences in building family happiness, developing economy, and preventing social evils, such as establishing 11 rapid response teams on preventing violence, abuse of women and children with the participation of over 220 members; and 44 women's groups and clubs to implement Project 938 "Propaganda and support for women to participate in solving a number of social issues related to women for 2017-2027 period" with the participation of 822 members covering over 50% ethnic minority and religious areas.
Every year, more than 95% of women members (religious women accounting for over 60 %) have accessed knowledge in many fields. Over 1,200 propagandists of the Union directly have provided necessary information and knowledge for members in local residential areas.
