On January 20, a delegation from Vinh Diocese visited Quang Binh provincial People’s Committee ahead of the upcoming Traditional Tet Festival.
The delegation was led by Chief of the diocese office Nguyễn Văn Hiểu and attended by local priests, representatives of Vinh -Thanh Major Seminary and the Lovers of Holy Cross Monastery.
Chief of the office of provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Trần Quang and representatives of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs welcomed the delegation.
On behalf of Bishop of Vinh diocese Paul Nguyễn Thái Hợp, Chief of the cathedral office Nguyễn Văn Hiểu wished leaders and officials of Quang Binh provincial government a healthy and happy New Year, and took the chance to thank the provincial authorities for their due attention and support extended to pastoral activities by Catholics in the locality over the past years.
While conveying Lunar New Year greetings to all members of the delegation and the diocese’s priests and believers, Chief Nguyễn Trần Quang briefed the guests socio-economic situation as well as outstanding achievements of the province in 2016. The chief insisted the continued interest of the provincial authorities to ensure religious practices of all religions in general, and Catholism in particular.
