A seminar on strengthening the mobilization work and solidarity amongst religious women in the current period was held on October 10 in Hanoi Centre.

The conference was hosted by the Vietnam Women’s Union (VWU) with the attendance of Vice President of VWU Bùi Thị Hòa, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Dương Ngọc Tấn, Vice President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Ngô Sách Thực and  a large number of researchers on religion.

The seminar focused on discussion of solutions to improve the quality of the VWU’s mobilization work for religious women including diversifying methods of advocacy, fostering the professional training for core members, improving capacity of officials in charge of the state administration on religious affairs, strengthening coordination among ministries, departments and social unions, as well as with religious organizations for improving the social and religious life of women.

As reported at the event, the mobilization work for religious women by VWU recorded many positive results over the past time. Many female religious dignitaries and deacons have taken the lead in encouraging women of different religions to proactively join the women association in localities as well as voluntarily and actively engage in emulation movements and campaigns launched by the union and the local government for socio-economic development in the country.
