Vietnam Pure-Land Buddhist Association holds general conference in Tien Giang

The Vietnam Pure-Land Buddhist Association in Tien Giang successfully held on December 6-7 its general conference for the 2018-2023 term.

The conference saw the participation of General Secretary of the Buddhist Association’s central executive committee Nguyễn Đức Thắng, Chairman of the association in Tien Giang province Trần Công Chức, heads of nine temples and over 200 members of the association in the province.

Guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Văn Khuê and Chairman of the Religious Affairs Board under the provincial VFF Huỳnh Thị Như Hương.

The 3rd conference has elected eleven members to the next-term executive committee of the Buddhist Association in Tien Giang headed by Chairman Trần Công Chức, as well as nominated five members to attend the association’s upcoming national congress.

Speaking at the conference, Vice Chairman Trần Văn Khuê spoke highly of medical charities by ten clinics of the association in the locality.

On the occasion, the Vietnam Pure-Land Buddhist Association has received a certificate of merit from the ministry of health for outstanding contributions to medical care for the poor in the locality.

The Vietnam Fatherland Frond Committee has also awarded certificates of merit to five groups of the Buddhist associations for their contributions in strengthening national unity in the province.
