Vietnam Minister of Home Affairs meets with French Minister of Public Transformation and Service

Vietnamese Minister of Home Affairs Phạm Thị Thanh Trà has a working meeting with French Minister of Public Transformation and Service Stanislas Guerini in Hanoi on November 30.

Joining the event included Deputy Minister of Home Affairs Vũ Chiến Thắng, Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Vũ Hoài Bắc,  and French Ambassador to Vietnam Olivier Brochet.

Speaking at the event, Minister Phạm Thị Thanh Trà welcomed the minister’s visit regarding it as a significant milestone as the two countries are celebrating the 50th anniversary of their diplomatic ties and the 10th anniversary of their strategic partnership, and an opportunity for both sides to well implement the cooperation agreement on civil service and administrative modernization signed in Hà Nội in March, 2022.

For his part, Minister Stanislas Guerini affirmed that the cooperation agreement has created conditions for enhancing exchanges and experiences in public administration between Vietnam and France, and identified specific cooperative activities, bringing practicality and serving interests of the both sides.

According to the Minister, in the coming time, the Vietnamese Ministry of Home Affairs would focus on administrative reform, digital transformation and civil service reform, and propelling green growth. She wished both sides would promote collaboration in reform of civil service and bring Vietnamese personnel to the French National Institute of Public Service for training.

Minister Stanislas Guerini expressed readiness to share France’s experience in renewing the professional training of high-ranking officials. According to the French Minister, the civil service helps create the people’s trust, the well-trained and high – quality continent of public servants helps better serve people, and the key to improve public service is the administration reform, digital transformation, and a streamlined government body.

Both sides agreed on coordination in the fields of reform of civil service, digital transformation and improving the quality of personnel and other activities within the framework of the cooperation agreement signed for the 2022-2025 period.

On the occasion, the French Minister presented the French National Institute of Public Service’s certificates to Vietnamese personnel who have just graduated from the institute’s training courses.

On the same day, Minister Phạm Thị Thanh Trà and Minister Stanislas Guerini attended the international workshop themed “Sharing experiences in reform of public service, administrative reform and digital transformation” organized as part of the cooperation agreement on civil service and administrative modernization of the two sides.
