President of the Vietnamese Fatherland Front (VFF) Nguyễn Thiện Nhân paid a visit to Dong Nai province on December 13 to congratulate Catholics of Xuan Loc diocese and the Dong Nai Catholic Solidarity Committee on occasion of their Christmas celebrations.

Joining the visit were Mr. Trần Đình Thành, member of Central Party Committee, Secretary of Dong Nai provincial Party Committee, Mr. Dương Ngọc Tấn, Vice-Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs and representatives from local authorities.

At Xuan Loc diocese Cathedral, Mr. Nguyễn Thiện Nhân extended best wishes and merry Christmas to Catholic dignitaries and followers in the diocese in particular, and the whole country in general.

 Speaking at the meeting reception VFF President praised contributions made by the diocese, and Bishop Nguyễn Chu Trinh especially, to national solidarity. 

For his part, Bishop Nguyễn Chu Trinh expressed his sincere thanks to the Party, State and VFF for their sentiments towards the Catholic community and emphasized that he will further encourage followers to make contributions to building a prosperous country of Vietnam.

The same day, VFF President Nguyễn Thiện Nhân also visited Dong Nai Catholic Solidarity Committee and sent his best Christmas wishes to Catholic compatriots in the province.

Speaking at the meeting reception, VFF President highlighted the Committee’s achievements in recent years.

He expressed his hope that dignitaries will do their best for encouraging followers to actively participate in movements for construction and development in the locality and the country as the whole.
