Vietnam Catholic Institute opens first course

The Vietnam Catholic Institute held on September 14 the opening ceremony of the first college-level theology course at headquarters of the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Vietnam – the temporary location of the Institute.

The event saw the attendance of Archbishop Chairman of the Catholic Bishop’s Conference of Vietnam cum Chancellor of the Institute Joseph Đinh Đức Đạo, priests from seminaries and orders, clergymen and clergywomen, and all students of the first course.

During the ceremony, Archbishop Paul Bùi Văn Đọc delivered the opening speech, and Bishop Rector Joseph Đinh Đức Đạo briefed the mission of the Vietnam Catholic Institute.

According to the Rector of the Institute, the first course has 23 students out of 37 contestants and most of them are priests from Catholic dioceses and religious orders across the country.
