A Buddhist delegation led by Senior Venerable Vice President of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Central Executive Council Thích Thanh Phong from January 22-25 visited and presented sets of supports to the poor, policy beneficiaries and other disadvantaged people in ethnic minority areas.
During the program, 10,000 sets of support valued at nearly ten billion VND in total have been sent to poor families, policy beneficiaries, the elderly, and people with disabilities in remote and ethnic minority areas of Lao Cai, Lai Chau, Đien Bien, Son La, Hoa Binh, Thai Nguyen, Bac Giang, Quang Ninh, Thanh Hoa, Quang Binh and Ha Tinh provinces.
According to Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Phong, each set of supply contains 500,000 VND in cash and necessities, and the charitable program was funded by sponsors.
On the occasion, the charitable program also offered scholarship for purpils and presented financial supports for the construction of a rural road and charitable houses for poor people in the locality.
