The Vietnam Buddhist Institute in Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) opened its new school year of 2017-2018 at a ceremony held on September 17.
The ceremony was presided over by Most Venerable Deputy Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Discernment Council cum Rector of the Vietnam Buddhist Institute Thích Trí Quảng, and attended by Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Tấn Hùng and large numbers of the Buddhist Institute’s students.
During the ceremony, the Vietnam Buddhist Institute presented bachelor and master degrees certificates to graduating students in Buddhist studies.
Addressing at the event, while extending congratulatory greetings to graduating monks and nuns, Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng hailed the Vietnam Buddhist Institute for its training achievements and contributions to the development of Buddhism in the country.
