Vietnam (Binh Duc) Caodai Church marks 60th founding anniversary

The Vietnam (Binh Duc) Caodai Church’s executive committee held on April 26 a solemn ceremony for celebrating the sect’s 60th founding anniversary (1961-2021) in Tien Giang province’s My Tho city.  

The event taking place at Hoang Dao Holy See located in Trung An commune of My Tho city saw the presence of Archbishop Ngọc Tròn Thanh, Chairman of the Caodai church’s Executive Committee and large numbers of dignitaries, deacons and lay members of the Caodai sect.

Distinguished at the event included Director of the Southern Religious Affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trà Quang Thanh, Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Văn Khuê and representatives from local authorities.

As reported at the event, the Vietnam (Binh Duc) Caodai Church was established in 1961 with its headquarters located in Hoang Dao Holy See. The Church was officially received the state registration in 2010 and successfully convened the 3rd national congress of the sect in late 2020.

The Vietnam (Binh Duc) Caodai Church has currently over 2,000 members in five provinces and cities of Tien Giang, Ben Tre, Long An, Dong Thap and Ho Chi Minh with six parishes and three worshipping places.

Speaking at the event, Vice Chairman Trần Văn Khuê spoke highly of practical contributions for socio-economic development by the Vietnam (Binh Duc) Caodai Church over the past years. He also called on the Caodai sect and its members to proactively engage in the upcoming elections of deputies to the 15th National Assembly (NA) and the People’s Councils at all levels for the 2021-2026 tenure.
