Vietnam Baha’i Community holds 9th general congress

On April 23-25, the Vietnam Baha’i Community held its 9th general congress for 2016-2017 tenure in Ho Chi Minh city.

Distinguished guests at the congress included Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Trần Tấn Hùng and Representatives from the Baha’i Advisory Board for Asia,

The three-day congress passed the report of the Spiritual Council’s activities in the previous term and approved the working plans in the term 2016-2017.

The congress also elected 9 members to the new-term Spiritual Council of the Vietnam Baha’i Community with Mr. Nguyễn Thức as the Council President.

Speaking at the congress, Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hung congratulated the Vietnam Baha’i Community on its achievements over the past years. He also called on the Spiritual Council to continue encouraging followers of Baha’i faith in Vietnam to make further practical contributions to the development of the country.
