Vietnam Baha’i Community convenes tenth congress

The Baha’i Community of Vietnam held its tenth National Congress in Ho Chi Minh City on April 22-23 to review its performance in the 2016-17 tenure and outline its working plans for the 2017-18 term.

Distinguished as at the event included Dr. Lee Lee Loh Ludher representing the Asian Board of Counselors of the Baha’i World Community, Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Tấn Hùng, representatives of local authorities. 

Addressing the event, Vice Chairman Trần Tấn Hùng praised the community’s contributions over the past years. In the 2016-2017 tenure, the Baha’i Community of Vietnam joined hands with people nationwide to overcome many challenges and difficulties, as well as guided followers to effectively participate in social and charitable activities, fostering solidarity in localities and contributing to the country’s achievements, he added.  

The government religious committee’s leader also highlighted the Baha’i Community’s efforts and activities for better education of the youth and expressed hope that in the next tenure, Baha’i dignitaries  will keep instructing followers to implement the Government’s policies, and consolidating social unity and unity with other religions.
