Vietnam announces six more national intangible cultural heritages

Vietnam has announced six additional national intangible cultural heritages under the Decision No.3609/DD-BVHTTDL signed on September 27 by Minister of Culture, Sports, and Tourism Nguyễn Ngọc Thiện.

Six new national intangible cultural heritages consist of the forest worshipping ceremony of Phu La ethnic people (Nan Sin commune, Xin Man district, Ha Giang province), Nang Hai (moon worshipping) festival of Tay Ngan ethnic people (Vo Diem commune, Bac Quang district, Ha Giang province), Thanh Liet temple festival (Hung Lam commune, Hung Nguyen district, Nghe An province), Thuong Liet temple festival (Dong Tan commune, Dong Hung district, Thai Binh province), Doc Cuoc temple festival (Sam Son city, Thanh Hoa province) and Tho Vuc temple festival (Hong Lac commune, Son Duong district, Tuyen Quang province)

Under the decision, the chairpersons of People’s Committees of localities where the new national intangible cultural heritages are located, were required to manage them well in accordance with the law on cultural heritage.

As of September 2018, Vietnam boasted nearly 260 national intangible cultural heritages.
