Vice President Đặng Thị Ngọc Thịnh paid on March 18 a visit to the Executive Committee of Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in Soc Trang province, on occasion of her working trip in Western provinces.
During the visit, Vice President Đặng Thị Ngọc Thịnh praised contributions made by dignitaries, monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in Soc Trang province for the national construction and defense and socio-economic development in the province, especially in the COVID-19 epidemic prevention over the last year.
The Vice President also expressed hope that the VBS executive committee would continue effectively implementing of Buddhist affairs, practically contribute to preservation and promotion of fine traditions of Vietnamese Buddhism.
On this occasion, Vice President Đặng Thị Ngọc Thịnh planted a tree at Soc Trang Truc Lam Zen monastery.
