President of the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee Nguyễn Thiện Nhân paid a visit to the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Office in Ho Chi Minh City on May 27 on the occasion of Buddha’s Birthday (B.E. 2559).
Joining the visit were Vice Chairman of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (GCRA) Bùi Thanh Hà and Deputy Secretary of the HCM city Party Committee Nguyễn Thành Phong.
At the reception, President Nguyễn Thiện Nhân extended best wishes to Chairman of the VBS Executive Council as well as monks, nuns and Buddhists in Vietnam.
He also praised the Church’s efforts in encouraging Buddhist dignitaries and followers to proactively join the VFF’s campaigns and expressed his hope that VBS’s dignitaries and followers would continue to promote fine traditions of Vietnam Buddhism and proactively join in national emulation movements and programs launched by the VFF.
