The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF) Central Committee held on October 31 a conference to gather comments on the draft decree on sanction of violations in the field of belief and religion.

The event saw the presence of Vice President of the VFF Ngô Sách Thực; Professor Đỗ Quang Hưng, Head of the Advisory Council on Religion under the VFF; members of the Advisory Council on Religion under the VFF; experts, scholars in the field of religion; and representatives from religious organizations and the VFF in North provinces.
The draft decree on sanction of violations in the field of belief and religion consists of 4 chapters with 51 articles, with provisions on administrative violations and sanctioning forms, sanctioning levels and remedial measures, as well as competent authorities to make minutes and impose penalties for administrative violations in the field of belief and religion.
During the event, participants discussed the necessity of a Decree on sanction of violations in the field of belief and religion, key contents of the draft Decree, the consistency with the legal system in promulgating the Decree on handling administrative violations, responsibilities of state administration agencies in the implementing the Decree, etc.
