The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) sent on August 26 a dispatch to its central function committees and executive committees in provinces and cities calling for a proactive response to the program “Millions of solidarity gift sets to assist Southern countrymen to overcome COVID-19 pandemic” launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF).

Accordingly, the VBS central executive council called Buddhist monks, nun, lay followers, worshipping places to contribute 50,000 gift sets to assist southern provinces hardest hit by the current COVID-19 pandemic outbreak.

The dispatch also asked supporting Buddhist followers and worshipping places to closely coordinate with the local VFF branches in helping people in need, and continue other practical supports, such as offering free meals to people in Covid-19 hard-hit areas.
