VBS’s Central Committee for Cultural Affairs for 2017-2022 term makes debut

The Central Committee for Cultural Affairs of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) for the 8th tenure (2017-2022) has made its formal debut at the announcing ceremony held by the VBS’s Executive Council on August 7.

During the ceremony taking place in Ha Noi City, Most Venerable President of the VBS Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn presented the decision of the 97- member committee for cultural affairs for the 8th term approved by the VBS Executive Council.

On the occasion, the VBS’s Central Committee for Cultural Affairs highlighted key tasks approved for the 2017-2022 tenure, including ongoing researches on Buddhist heritage, architecture, costume and language, the establishment of a centre for preservation and development of Buddhist cultural heritages, survey of Buddhist cultural heritages and relics, 3D digitization of Buddhist ancient temples in the whole country, etc.
