VBS sub-committee for nun affairs in Tien Giang hands over supports to locals in local pandemic area

The Sub-committee for Nun Affairs under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in Tien Giang province held a program on June 23 for presenting supports to local people in the Covid-19 pandemic area in My Hoi village of Cai Lay provincial city’s My Hanh Dong commune.  

The charity program was launched by Superior Nun Thích nữ Tịnh Nghiêm, Vice Chairwoman of the VBS’s Executive Committee cum Head of the Nun Affairs Sub-committee in the province and Abbess of Tinh Nghiem pagoda located in My Tho city.

The program presented 200 gift sets containing food and necessities valued at over 100 million VND in total to people living in the pandemic area in My Hanh Dong commune.

My Hanh Dong commune with over 2,500 households and 8,593 people has temporary been locked down for the Covid-19 epidemic prevention since June 13, 2021, due to a complicated source of Covid-19 cases in the locality.
