VBS sends relief to flood-hit victims

The Vietnam Fatherland Front (VFF)’s Central Committee received on August 10 a sum of VND 200 million for victims of recent floods in Vietnam Northern provinces from the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS).

Floods in Northern Vietnam early this month have caused heavy losses of life and property and huge damages to the local infrastructure. In response, the VBS’s Central Committee has issued a call to Buddhist nationwide for raising support in order to held flood-hit victims, said Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS Central Committee Thích Thanh Nhiễu while presenting the relief package to the VFF Central Committee.

Receiving the relief support from the VBS leader, Vice Chairwoman of the VFF Central Committee Trương Thị Ngọc Ánh spoke highly of the VBS’s response and regarded it as a noble contribution for helping people affected by the floods to overcome their losses and difficulties./.
