The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council held a conference on April 9 in Buu Quang pagoda in Sa Dec town of Dong Thap province to review its Buddhist affairs in five provinces and cities of Southwestern region.
Attending the meeting were members of the VBS Executive Council and the VBS Executive Committees in five provinces of Southwestern region of Kien Giang, An Giang, Tra Vinh, Vinh Long and Dong Thap.
Representatives from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (Southern Religious Affairs Department) and local authorities also joint the event.
The conference highlighted key contents of the VBS’ Buddhist affairs for 2016, including the organization of the general Buddhist Congress at all levels for 2017 – 2022 tenure and preparation work to celebrate the 35th founding anniversary of the VBS and discussed remaining issues in several localities.
