VBS reviews its monthly performance in South region

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council held a conference on April 9 in Quang Duc monastery in Ho Chi Minh city to review its Buddhist affairs in five provinces and cities of South region.

Attending the meeting were Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Council cum Chairman of the Inspection Committee Thích Thiện Tánh, Most Venerable Chairman of the VBS Legal Committee Thích Thiện Trí and members the VBS Executive Committees in Ho Chi Minh city and provinces of Long An, Tien Giang, Ben Tre and Binh Thuan.

Deputy Director of the Southern Religious Affairs Department under the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Trà Quang Thanh and leaders of the Religious Committees in the five Southern localities also joint the event

It’s reported that this is the third monthly conference out of seven conferences to be held by the VBS Executive Council in April, 2016, covering 34 provinces and cities of the South region.

During the conference, representatives from the provincial-level VBS Executive Committees discussed remaining issues in several localities relating personnel of provincial and district-level VBS Executive Committees, monitoring of monks, nuns and Buddhist Family, Buddha Birthday festival and the Summer Retreat B.E. 2560.
