The Central Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) organized a charity delegation to present gifts to fishermen in Quang Binh province’s districts of Quang Ninh and Le Thuy on May 6 and 7.
The delegation included Venerable General Secretary of the VBS Executive Council Thích Đức Thiện and Venerable Chairman of the VBS Central Committee for Economic and Financial Affairs Thích Thanh Phong.
With the spirit of the Buddhist compassion and national tradition of solidarity, the Central VBS delegation presented 1000 gift boxes worth VND 600 million to fishermen who are suffering harmful effects of the environmental disasters in Quang Binh province and provinces of the Central region that happened in Vietnam where local fishermen and people have been faced with the mass fish deaths and stagnation of fishing activities and travel services for nearly a month.

The charity program was sponsored by Vinh Nghiem Pagoda in Ho Chi Minh city and Hoang Phuc Pagoda in Quang Binh province.
