VBS leader sends aids to flood victims in Lai Chau

Most Venerable Deputy Patriarch of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Discernment Council Thích Trí Quảng led on July 12  a delegation to send relief to victims affected by recent devastating floods in Lai Chau province.

The VBS delegation visited families of victims and presented 50 million VND to each of 20 households having their houses destroyed and handed over 300 gift sets valued at VND 300 million in total to local people suffering losses by the recent floods and landslide.

The same day, the charity delegation also conducted a charity program worth over VND 2 billion in other hard-hit provinces of Dien Bien, Lao Cai and Ha Giang for sending aids to local flood victims.

As reported, the total value of the charity program was over VND 4 billion donated by Buddhists and sponsors in the country.
