The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Tien Giang province held on July 23 a training conference on pagoda management in My Tho city.
The event’s opening ceremony taking place at Vinh Trang pagoda saw the attendance of Most Venerable President of the VBS’s Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn, Most Venerable Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Huệ Minh, representatives from the functioning boards of the provincial VBS chapter and the VBS’s executive boards in 11 districts, and over 500 monks, nuns who are heads, deputy heads of 420 Buddhist pagodas in the province.
Local guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Trần Văn Khuê and local authorities’ representatives.
Main topics of the training conference included the professional management of Buddhist worshipping places and the VBS’s Charter and regulations, as well as state laws on belief and religion.
The training is taking place until July 28.
