VBS in Thai Binh reviews six month affairs

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Thai Binh province held on July 6 a meeting for reviewing its Buddhist affairs in the first six months 2021 and mapping out plans for the last six months of the year.  

The event taking place at Thanh Long pagoda located in Ky Ba ward of the province’s Thai Binh city saw the presence of Most Venerable Thích Thanh Dục, Head of the Discernment Council of the VBS in Thai Binh province, Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Hòa, Chairman of the VBS executive committee, and representatives of eight VBS executive boards of the province’s districts and city.

As reported at the event, for the last six month the VBS executive committee has made practical contributions to the social charities and the Covid-19 prevention work with the total value of over three billion VND.

In the election of deputies to the 15th National Assembly and People’s Council at all levels, Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Hòa, Chairman of the VBS executive committee was re-elected as member of the provincial People's Council and several monks and nuns elected as members of People's Council at the district level.

Thai Binh currently has 877 Buddhist worshipping places with 606 Buddhist monks and nuns.
