VBS in Ho Chi Minh City donates 600 oxygen tanks for home treatment of Covid-19 patients in An Giang

The Social Charity Board under the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) chapter in Ho Chi Minh City organized on September 26 a handing over ceremony at Vinh Nghiem pagoda located in District 3 for donating 600 9-litre oxygen cylinders and 5,000 sets of medical protective equipment to An Giang province.

This was the beginning of a charity program launched by the VBS social charity board for supporting medical equipment, medicines and oxygen tanks to people in the eastern and southwestern provinces facing with severe SARS-CoV-2 outbreak.

According to Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Phong, Head of the VBS social charity board, in addition to donating oxygen tanks and protective gears, the VBS social charity board would also present necessities to disadvantaged people in these provinces over the past months.

He also informed that the VBS social charity board will also donate 30,000 medical protective suits to workers in Dong Nai province and 20,000 protective suits to the Department of Health in Ho Chi Minh City in the coming days.

Regarding a program of medicine bags for Covid-19 patients treated at home which has been implemented since August 31, 2021, Senior Venerable Thích Thanh Phong said that so far, nearly 16,000 medicine bags have been given to Covid-19 patients in Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, Binh Duong and some neighboring provinces.
