VBS in Ha Tinh presents relief aid to flood victims

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee in Ha Tinh province paid on October 24-25 charity visits to people seriously affected by recent floods in the Central region.  

The VBS’s Executive Committee in the province presented 200 million VND to local people in communes of Thach Thang (Thach Ha district), Cam Due and Cam Vinh (Cam Xuyen district). Besides presenting 500 thousand VND in cash to each local, the charity program also presented necessities for the daily life including noodles, fresh water and rice to each household.

In addition, Buddhists from pagodas of Thanh Luong (Nghi Xuan district), Huong Tich (Can Loc district) have also organized voluntary teams to present aid packages to 100 households in the districts of Cam Xuyen and Ky Anh.

According to local report, since October 18, 118 communes and wards with 42,000 households and 150,000 people in 11 districts were flooded. Property, houses, crop, livestock, and poultry of local people were heavily damaged in the flood. In particular, six pagodas in the province also were flooded with some scriptures badly affected.
