A delegation of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) in the central province of Ha Tinh extended on February 2 a visit to the provincial government ahead of the lunar New Year (Tet).
The delegation led by Venerable Thích Quảng Nguyên, Vice Chairman of the VBS Executive Committee was welcomed by Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee of Ha Tinh Lê Ngọc Châu.
During the visiting reception, Venerable Thích Quảng Nguyên informed the host results of religious and social affairs of the VBS chapter in Ha Tinh in 2020, including efforts and supports in the Covid-19 prevention work last year. While extending Tet greetings to local officials and people in the province, the Buddhist dignitary took the chance to thank the concerning authorities of Ha Tinh for due attention and favorable conditions extended to Buddhist practices and affairs of the VBS in the province.
Speaking with the guest, Vice Chairman Lê Ngọc Châu highly appreciated practical contributions of the VBS and Buddhist followers in Ha Tinh province for socio-economic development in the locality, and extended a new year of peace and success to monks, nuns and lay Buddhists in the province.
