VBS in District 8 presents 500 sets of support supplies to disadvantaged locals due to Covid-19

A charity program for presenting 500 sets of essential supplies to disadvantaged people severely affected by the Covid-19 epidemic in District 8’s Ward 14 was held on September 7.

The charity event was co-organized by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Board in Ho Chi Minh City’s District 8 in collaboration with the Red Cross Association and the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee in the district.

During the event, 500 sets of supplies, with 10kg of rice and other necessities for each set and were delivered to each household in the locality. The support package worth over 160 million VND in total was donated by monks, nuns, lay Buddhists and other sponsors in District 8.

On the same day, the VBS executive board in District 8 also paid condolence visits to several families in the district whose members died from Covid-19, and visited and presented four million VND to each of 13 Buddhist pagodas in the locality.
