VBS in Dak Mil district holds lantern festival praying for peace and prosperity

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Board in Dak Nong province’s Dak Mil district held on March 7 a lantern ceremony to pray for peace.

Attending the event included Senior Venerable Member of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Committee in the province Thích Quảng Tuấn, representatives from local authorities and a large number of monks, nuns, Buddhists and local people.

Prior to the ceremony, Buddhists followers in the province participated in a competition of folk games including tug-of-war, boat race, dabbling, and watermelon feeding. The competition was co-organized by the VBS’s Executive Committee in the district and Youth Union in the district as part of the lantern ceremony to pray for peace and prosperity in the country.
