The executive committee of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in Bac Ninh province reviewed its affairs 2020 and mapped out key tasks in 2021 at a meeting held on December 30 at its office based in Dai Thanh Pagoda.
The event chaired by Seniour Venerable Chairman of the VBS executive committee Thích Thanh Phụng saw the presence of Most Venerable Thích Thanh Dũng, Deputy Patriarch of the VBS cum General Secretary of the VBS’s Central Discernment Council.
Guests at the meeting included representatives of the provincial Commission on Mass Mobilization, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee, the Department of Home Affairs and the Committee for Religious Affairs.
As reported, in 2020, the VBS chapter and Buddhists in Bac Ninh sent supports to the Covid-19 prevention work and 38,638 gift sets to the disadvantaged in localities, worth 21,796 million VND in total.
On the occasion, the provincial authorities of Bac Ninh presented certificates of recommendations to the VBS executive committee, Seniour Venerable Thích Thanh Phụng, four groups and eights monks and nuns for their outstanding social contributions in the province in 2020.
