VBS in Ba Ria Vung Tau strictly observes Covid-19 preventive measures

Due to the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak in Vietnam, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee in Ba Ria Vung Tau province has recommended Buddhists and visitors to avoid large gatherings in pagodas and access Buddhist teachings through radio, facebook, and YouTube channel, etc.  

Venerable Thích Nhuận Nghĩa, Vice Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee said that Ba Ria – Vung Tau province currently has 435 Buddhist worshipping places, mainly located in Phu My district (202 establishments). This year, due to the risks of infection amid the ongoing Covid-19 outbreak, the provincial VBS’s Executive has sent dispatches to all Buddhist worshipping places asking them to strictly implement prevention measures against the epidemic by the Government, the VBS’s Executive Council and Ba Ria Vung Tau authorities.

“This year, only few Buddhists go to worshipping temples and often come with their families”, Venerable Thích Nhuận Nghĩa informed.

Visitors in Dai Tong Lam pagoda check their body temperature and do hand antiseptic

For recent days, pagodas and religious worshipping places in Phu My district have strictly implemented Covid-19 preventive measures. All these religious places have also provided hand sanitizes, masks and body temperature check for Buddhists and visitors.

Venerable Thích Nhuận Bảo of Dai Tong Lam pagoda informed that the management board of Dai Tong Lam pagoda has carried disinfectant spray at the pagoda, prepared 20 liters of hand sanitizes and 5,000 masks, as well as checked body temperature of visitors to the pagoda.
