On occasion of anniversary International Women’s Day March 8th and Hai Ba Trung uprising’s day, the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Central Committee for Buddhist Guidance held an exchange with the theme “Buddhism for Buddhist women” on March 5.
Attending the event included Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS Central Committee for Buddhist Guidance Thích Thanh Hưng, Venerable Member of the VBS Central Executive Council Thích Thanh Tuấn, Superior Nun Vice Chairman of the Central Sub-committee for Nun Affairs Thích Đàm Nghiêm and Venerable Kim Tuệ, Abbot of Khmer pagoda in Son Tay district, Hanoi city.
The event also saw participation of Director of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs’s Buddhist Affairs Department Bùi Hữu Dược, Historian Prof. Lê Văn Lan, representatives of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee and a large number of Buddhist followers.
During the exchange, Buddhist women Dương Thùy Dương, Nguyễn Tường Cẩm Vân and Nguyễn Thị Nhung… delivered presentations on roles of women in the family and society.

During the event, the VBS Central Committee for Buddhist Guidance presented certificates of merit to Buddhist groups and individuals and Buddhist women for their contributions to the preservation of Buddhist teachings. Concluding the exchange, Buddhist dignitaries and followers gave their signatures responding to the “I love my country” movement.
