The Central Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) organized a conference to review Buddhist affairs implemented during 7th term in the Southern region at the Central VBS’s Southern office in Quang Duc monastery on May 23.
Attending the conference were Most Venerable Thích Đức Nghiệp, Vice Patriarch of the Central VBS’s Discernment Council; Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn, Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Council; Vice Chairmen of the VBS’s Executive Council Most Venerable Thích Thiện Pháp, Thích Giác Toàn, Thích Thiện Tâm and Thích Thiện Tánh; Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, General Secretary of the Central VBS’s Executive Council; representatives from the Central VBS’s Committees, the provincial Executive Committee of Southern provinces and cities; and the Executive Board in Ho Chi Minh city’s 24 districts.

Speaking at the conference, Most Venerable Thích Thiện Nhơn highlighted VBS’s important achievements obtained so far in the 7th tenure (2012-2017) and requested the Executive Committee of provinces and cities to organize a mid-term preliminary conference in the localities for reviewing Buddhist affairs implemented in the first half of the 7th term and mapping out plans of activities in the second half of the term, including the successful organization of the district-level Buddhist Congress in 2016…
