VBS holds annual conference on administrative affairs in Northern region

The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) held on April 15 the annual conference on its administrative affairs in the Northern region at its central northern office based in Quan Su Pagoda in Hanoi.

The conference saw large numbers of dignitaries representing the VBS central discernment and executive council, and the provincial-level executive committee in 29 provinces and cities of Vietnam North.

Guests at the event included Director of Buddhist Affairs Department of the Government Committee for Religious Affairs Nguyễn Phúc Nguyên and representatives of concerning central ministries and agencies.

During the conference, Senior Venerable Thích Đức Thiện, General Secretary of the VBS’s central executive councils, delivered a brief report on results of administrative affairs of the VBS in the first quarter of 2021.

As reported, important Buddhist affairs and events of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha in 2021 included the 40th founding anniversary of the VBS and district and province-level congress of the VBS’s chapters, in preparation for the national congress of the Vietnam Buddhist church, which is to be convened next year.
