VBS discusses Buddhist activities in Southwestern region

Buddhist affairs in five provinces and cities of Southwestern region were discussed at a conference held by the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Council on September 4 in Bao Thinh pagoda in Vi Thanh city of Hau Giang province.

Attending the event were Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS Executive Council Thích Thiện Tánh, members of the VBS Executive Council and the VBS Executive Committees in five Southwestern provinces of Ca Mau, Bac Lieu, Soc Trang, Can Tho and Hau Giang.

Representatives from the Government Committee for Religious Affairs (Southern Religious Affairs Department) and the Committee for Religious Affairs of the five provinces also joint the conference.

The conference exchanged and discussed key Buddhist affairs of the Buddhist committees in the five provinces and their coordination with local authorities, as well as emerging Buddhist issues in the region, including the building of worshiping facilities by Buddhists in their homes.
