The 3rd Congress of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Quang Binh provice was held on March 7 in Dai Giac pagoda in Dong Hoi city.
Attending the congress were Most Venerable Chairman of the VBS Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn, Buddhist digntaries from the VBS Executive Council and VBS Executive Committees in provinces of Thua Thien Hue and Quang Tri and nearly 500 delegates representing monks, nuns and followers in the locality.
State guests at the event included Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committe Trần Công Thuật and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Trần Tiến Dũng.

The one-day congress elected 33 members of the new-term VBS Executive Committee for 2017 – 2022 tenure and 13 members of the Executive Commtee’s standing board, with Most Venerable Thích Tánh Nhiếp reelected as the Committee Chairman.
As reviewed at the event, During the 2nd term, the provincial VBS established the district-level VBS Executive Board in four districts.
