The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Executive Committee in Tay Ninh province solemnly held on May 16 an opening ceremony of the summer retreat course 2019 (B.E. 2563).
The event taking place at Phuoc Thanh pagoda located in Trang Bang district saw the participation of Buddhist dignitaries of the provincial VBS Executive Committee and large numbers of Buddhist monks and nuns in the locality.
Local guests at the event included Deputy Director of Home Affairs Department Trần Minh Nay and representatives from the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs.
According to a plan of the VBS Executive Committee in the province, the summer retreat 2019 (B.E. 2563) would be held in Phuoc Thanh pagoda for monks and Niet Ban pagoda for nuns. During the summer retreat, participating monks, nuns often learn about Buddhist tenets, regulations of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist rituals, as well as state religious laws.
