The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s Executive Committee in Quang Binh province held on May 21 a solemnly opening ceremony of the summer retreat course 2019 (B.E. 2563).
The course taking place at Dai Giac pagoda located in Dong Hoi city’s Duc Ninh Dong ward saw the participation of Most Venerable Thích Tánh Nhiếp, Member of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee, and Buddhist dignitaries, monks, nuns and followers in the province.
The annual event is an occasion for monks and nuns to learn about Buddhist tenets, regulations of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha and Buddhist rituals, as well as state religious laws.
As reported, 25 Buddhist monks attend the summer retreat course 2019.
