
A delegation of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s executive committee in Ho Chi Minh has organized a trip to Northwest provinces from August 12-15 for sending aid to help local people most severely affected by recent floods and the Typhoon Son Tinh.
The charity program was led by Senior Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS’s executive committee in the city Thích Thanh Phong.
During the charity program in Northwest provinces of Yen Bai, Lai Chau and Ha Giang, 3,000 relief sets containing rice, noodles and essentials and VND 500,000 in cash have been handed over to flood victims.
During a charity program for sending relief to flood victims in Northwest provinces on July 13, learning of great losses that the North West people suffered from devastating floods, the VBS chapter has decided to organize this additional charity program to help affected people in hardest-hit provinces of Yen Bai, Lao Cai and Ha Giang.
As reported, the total value of this charity program was over VND 4.5 billion.
