A delegation of the Vietnam Buddhist Sangha’s (VBS) Executive Committee in Ha Tinh province led by Most Venerable Vice President of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Chairman of the provincial VBS’s Executive Committee Thích Bảo Nghiêm paid a visit on February 6 to Ha Tinh authorities ahead of Lunar New Year 2018.
Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party’s Committee Trần Nam Hồng and representatives from the provincial authorities welcomed the Buddhist delegation.
During the meeting, while extending traditional New Year greetings to officials of Ha Tinh provincial government, Most Venerable Thích Bảo Nghiêm took the chance to thank the provincial authorities for favorable conditions extended to the VBS Chapter in Buddhist activities over the past year.
Speaking with the guests, Deputy Secretary Trần Nam Hồng informed the guests about the socio-economic development in the province in 2017 and expressed hope that the VBS Chapter would continue promoting fine traditions, contributing to the development in the province.
