The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS) Chapter in Ha Giang province held on May 7 a solemn ceremony to celebrate the Buddha’s Birthday 2019 (B.E. 2563) at Nam Dau pagoda in Vi Xuyen district.
The event saw the presence of Most Venerable Vice Chairman of the VBS’s Executive Council cum Head of the VBS Chapter in Ha Giang Thích Gia Quang and large numbers of monks, nuns, and followers in the locality.
Local guests at the event included Vice Chairman of the provincial Committee for Religious Affairs Chu Minh Sinh and representatives from local authorities.
During the ceremony, Most Venerbale Thích Gia Quang read the message of VBS Supreme Patriarch Most Venerable Thích Phổ Tuệ and informed them of the 16th UN Day of Vesak to be held at the Tam Chuc Buddhism Culture Centre in Kim Bang district of northern Ha Nam province from May 12-14.
