The Vietnam Buddhist Sangha (VBS)’s chapter in Dong Nai province solemnly held on January 25 an announcement ceremony for newly-ordained monks, nuns in the province.
The ceremony saw the attendance of Most Venerable President of the VBS's Executive Council Thích Thiện Nhơn, vice presidents of the Buddhist executive council, and ordained monks and nuns in the province.
Local guests at the event included Chairman of the provincial People's Council Nguyễn Phú Cường and Vice Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Nguyễn Hòa Hiệp.
During the event, the provincial VBS's Executive Council presented ordination decisions for 132 monks, nuns who have recently been promoted by VBS, including seven venerable, 37 senior venerable, 18 superior nuns and 71 bhiksuni.
